Parrot MKi9200 – Review
Summary: The Parrot MKi9200 is great for taking/receiving calls hands free, and also great for streaming music in your car from many different sources.
The Parrot MKi9200 Bluetooth Car Handsfree Kit can still be purchased as a stand alone hands free kit, but chances are it will be replaced by Parrots new Asteroid kit (which also includes Satellite Navigation, running on an Android platform).
The Parrot MKi9200
is was the best hands free kit available for purchase, for the amount of features the kit provided. The MKi9200 allows car drivers to take and receive calls without the use of hands, and also allowed music to be streamed either via wireless (bluetooth), or via the iPod/USB/3.5mm jack lead (which can work out cheaper then purchasing a new stereo which could handle this feature for most cars.
The screen is full colour, and smart minimal design means it can be placed just about anywhere in the car without it looking out of place. There is a wire which connects the screen to the main control box (blue box). The screen is also removable, in case you live in a rough area.
The controller is completely wireless, and runs off a watch type battery, which means you can stick or mount this just about anywhere which the vehicle. You are also provided with a steering wheel strap to mount the controller, but I always found this got in the way.
The Parrot MKi9200 simply plugs into your cars wiring harness (with compatible SOT lead), and allows you to head your calls via your car speakers, and also stream music via your vehicles speakers.
Overall the MKi9200 is a great bit of kit for anyone who doesn’t have a standard hands free kit fitted into their vehicle, or even those who don’t have the capabilities to listening to USB/iPod music as standard.
