The Parrot MKi kits are great, especially the Parrot MKi9200 which I use on a daily basis, but the only downside to wiring this in as standard using a Sound on Top lead (SOT) is the sound quality is a little mediocre. However, the Parrot MKi kits come with an Auxiliary output (Parrot Aux), which allows you to wire these kits directly into the aux input on the back of your stereo. Lucky my Ford Focus MK2 comes with an Auxiliary input, which allows me to use a MC9985 Lead (Ford Focus MK2.5 Only) – Also known as a INKA-048-2082 lead.
Using the Parrot Aux output, this lead allows you to stream your music, or use the inbuilt USB/iPod/3.5mm Jack lead to play music via the Aux function of your stereo, and when a call comes through, allows you take this as normal (Putting your stereo on mute).
You can wire the Parrot Aux in manually, but this would involve chopping wires, using pre-made plug and play connectors are the way forward, and is easily removed when it comes to selling the vehicle.
Another positive side of the INKA kit is it allows you to completely remove the following wiring connectors, as the new connector plugs directly into the Parrot Blue Box.
I have a 2005 focus with the factory 6000cd stereo, which was working fine, I have the parrot installed by Halfords and ever since my speakers work independently where the rear speakers will work then not, my drivers door speaker will work then not , then they will all click in, I have taken it back to Halfords but the say its not the Parrot and that my speakers have gone ,but a week later all speaker will work perfectly for a month then they will start to play up again, will the Music connect lead solve this issue as the speaker were working perfectly before the parrot installation. Or can you give shed some light on what it might be.

Hi James. I wish I’d found your site a couple of days ago. I’m currently replacing my factory fitted double din CD/Radio/Sat Nav (2009 Ford Focus) with a Clarion NX501E using Connects2 CTKFD25 fitting kit (and Clarion patch lead) I would like to use the factory fitted microphone that is in the light fitting but I have no idea where it comes out behind the stereo. All I have at the moment is the Sat Nav cable, radio aerial, and the chunky connector with loads of wires going in (sorry, that description reflects my car stereo abilities and knowledge) Do you know if the mic lead is in that large connector and will automatically connect it up when I put the new unit in, or do I have to do something or add something.

I have a 2010 ford focus zetec S and recently brought a parrot MKi 9000 and also brought a harness to connect it to the car. The link is here. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003QGS8Y0/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 however I had problems when fitting it that I could not find a mute cable to connect the parrot to and also for some strange reason with it all fitted the dashboard warning lights stayed on for a strangely long tome when starting the car. I am therefore not 100% convinced it is wired correctly
My question to you is does the music connect cable automatically address the issue of the mute cable and finding its location. Because currently I have not been able to even determine if the parrot is powering up or not

Hi James, I just bought an old 2007 Focus mk2 with the standard CD6000 and no factory fitted aux wiring, and trying to decide how to improve that – so I’m finding your tutorials really useful, thanks. Quick question about this, you said “my Ford Focus MK2 comes with an Auxiliary input, which allows me to use a MC9985 Lead (Ford Focus MK2.5 Only)” – just so I’m really clear, is it the same MusiConnect lead I need for my mk2? If I’ve understood this correctly, I need to buy one of the parrot MK sets, and this musiconnect cable, and that should cover me for bluetooth calls and music streaming through the car’s amp?
Hi Martin,
All Ford Focus stere’s have the aux input on the back of the stereo (this is part of the quadlock wiring harness). You may or may not have the rest of the connections for the aux lead (the 3.5mm jack for this should be in the glovebox). If not, dont worry as like I say, the connectors are still there in the back of the stereo plug.
Yes all you will need is the same Musiconnect lead, which then plugs into the Parrot system, which allows you to stream music from the Parrot and use the cars internal stereo amp to power the sound, and control the volume/bass/treble.
