This may seem obvious, but one of the best ways to get into a sport is to make friends or meet people that also enjoy it, especially if they’re more knowledgeable than you. Even if it’s a simple question such as “how long does a rugby match take?” or “why are there so many different golf clubs?”, showing an interest in a sport can get other people to passionately explain things to you. People love to talk about sports and they enjoy the casual conversation and banter that comes with it.
