The DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ Quadcopter brings out of the box, ready to fly, videography professionalism. The WiFi HD Video camera is the biggest change this quadcopter brings over its original sister, the DJI Phantom, which records in the excellent¬†standard of 1080p, which records directly onto the in-built 4GB SD card, but it doesn’t just end there, you can actually see what you are shooting by viewing the live stream of the video directly onto your iOS/Android, which can be clipped directly to the remote control of the DJI Phantom 2. This helps flying the quadcopter, by allowing you to fly from a first person view, instead of looking up at the unit in the sky.

The Phantom 2 Vision also features a 3-axis camera stabilisation, which means perfectly smooth videos no matter the weather. Extra features of the DJI Phantom 2 include GPS tracking/stabilisation, as well as gyroscopic stabilisation, which means you’ll never be able to lose your new purchase, even on a low battery.

The remote control for the DJI Phantom 2 is fairly self-explanatory, featuring two joysticks, which allow you to navigate the quadcopter up, down, left and right, and also spin the quadcopter around in a 360-degree movement. The controller also features WiFi connectivity, which allows you to connect your iOS/Android, which will then display the current video being captured, altitude and speed of the quadcopter all at realtime.

There is a new advanced battery on this model of the Phantom 2, which is easily slid into the quadcopter, and has an in-built power button and display to see how much charge is left in the battery. You will receive around 20-25 minuets flying time from a fully charged battery, which takes around an hour to fully charge.

All in all, the Phantom 2 Vision+ is an excellent addition to any amateur film makers kit, and can be purchased for around £940 (at time of review) from New Line Venture.
