Holidays are something so many of us look forward to. That feeling of travelling to a new destination is so exciting. However, it does come with the daunting task of packing. What do you need to bring, and will it all fit? Thankfully, there are plenty of tips you can follow to make the job simple.
A sure-fire way of saving space is using a small bag, as it forces you to bring less stuff. Whether it’s hand-luggage for an airline or being packed away easily in your car – small luggage makes your life simple.
You may think neat folding is the key for efficient packing, but this is not the case. Rolling your clothes will save you a ton of space. This means, despite having a smaller bag, you can still bring more of what you want.
The general mindset for packing is to be prepared and take everything you might need. Lots of people will bring something ‘just in case.’ However, if you don’t think you’ll use it – don’t bring it. Also, you don’t have to pack a different outfit for every day. Most types of accommodation will have some form of laundry services.
Towels notoriously take up a lot of room. You’ve got a few options to deal with this. Check to see if your accommodation provides towels, that way you don’t have to bother bringing your own. Alternatively, a microfiber travel towel easily folds up and saves plenty of space.
Focusing on another bathroom product: toiletries. Again, there are a few different ways to deal with this. You could simply opt for travel-sized toiletries if your trip is fairly short. Or you could buy them at the destination. It might even be cheaper.
Make sure to pack shoes at the bottom of your bag to distribute the weight. Also, you can put items in the shoes, such as socks or a glasses case, to help free up room. If you’re trying to pack really light, bring two pairs of shoes. One to pack, and one to wear.
Wear Bulky Items
It’s not just your travelling footwear choices that can save room. Be smart with your layers. You can always take them off during the journey, but you’ll have freed up lots of space in your bag.
These are just a few ways to make your packing light and convenient. Do you have any tips for saving space in your luggage?
