Common Blogging Mistakes You Don’t Want To Make

The blogging trend may have begun a few years back now, but it’s never too late to get yourself in the game. When you first get your blog up and running, it’s easy to get caught up in the excitement and rush of it all. So much so, in fact, that you make some pretty serious blunders. No blogger is perfect, especially at the start, but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t try to be. With that in mind, here are six common blogging mistakes that you don’t want to make.

    Setting An Unrealistic Schedule

In the early days of blogging, most writers are full of ideas. This makes it easy to publish on a more regular basis, sometimes even daily. However, that doesn’t mean that you should. Once you get all of your ideas out, it will become much harder to post frequently, which could frustrate your readers. To avoid this, you should set and stick to a more realistic schedule from the start.

    Choosing The Wrong Niche

Choosing a niche for your blog is one of the first and most important tasks that you need to do. Unfortunately, it’s one that many bloggers get wrong. If you want to learn how to start a bodybuilding blog today, then, by all means, do so, but make sure that you think it through first. Picking the wrong niche will mean writing about unenjoyable topics, which will harm your blog.

    Using Too Many Words

People visit blogs to read articles, but that doesn’t mean that they want to encounter a big wall of text. This looks unattractive and can be difficult to understand. Even if your content is amazing, you need to present it well to your audience. To do so, you should break up paragraphs by using headings. You should also add at least one image to every single article that you publish.

    Ignoring All The Comments

When one of your readers has taken the time to comment on your content, the last thing that you should do is ignore them. This shows that you don’t care about your audience, which could result in fewer site visitors. Replying to comments, on the other hand, will have to build a community, as well as establish your authority. It can also give you ideas for new content.

    Forgetting About Social Sharing

Having your friends and family take time out of their lives to read your blog can definitely be rewarding, but, at some point, you are going to want to reach a wide audience. To make this easier, you should add social media sharing buttons to your site and every one of your posts. This allows your readers to share your content across their own social media platforms.

    Neglecting To Use Analytics

Without analytics, it’s difficult, if not impossible to know which of your posts are most popular or where readers are finding your information. This means that you’ll struggle to grow your audience. To remedy this, you should ensure that you install Google Analytics and spend some time learning the basics so that you can improve your blog and increase site traffic.

Growing a successful blog can be a challenge, but you’ll find the task a whole lot easier if you avoid the mistakes listed above.
