Toyota GT86 Given a Flashy New Update

Toyota GT86 Aero

With its 2.0-litre boxer engine, gorgeous design and superb handling, the GT86 is already one of Toyota’s best-performing sports cars, yet the illustrious Japanese manufactures have decided that their coupe could do with a small revision. Named the GT86 Aero, the enhancements come in the form of brand new gloss black 18-inch rims, as well as an eye-catching orange paint job. Though this special edition isn’t miles away from the already great standard model GT86, it simply keeps the car in a renewed focus and highlights its fantastic performance that originally garnered it Top Gear’s Car of the Year award in the past.

Fortunately, the Aero continues to keep the GT86’s solid fuel economy and reduced CO2 emissions – part of greener efforts that Toyota are actually going to revolutionise in the coming years. Starting in May, Toyota will start producing vehicles with a new biosynthetic rubber product in their engine and drive system hoses. Named ‘biohydrin’, this type of rubber will be made from bio-materials taken from plants (which naturally absorb CO2) and is expected to achieve a 20 percent reduction in carbon emissions.

In recent years, Toyota have always provided quality vehicles with low emissions, so it should come as no surprise to hear that they are ahead of the curve again when it comes to CO2 reduction. The Yaris has been one of the best city cars with low emissions for a long time, and Toyota are one of many car makers allowing replacement and cleaner exhaust parts to be found online nowadays. Even just for the Yaris alone, one can enter their particular model on a UK-based site called www.mister-auto.co.uk when searching for exhaust parts, for example, and find all the pieces that are suitable for their vehicle.

It is exciting to see where this cleaner rubber product will take Toyota in the future – hopefully a future that is greener without compromising on performance!
