The word ‘Glamping’ is the combination of the words camping and glamour. It may seem like an oxymoron if you’ve never fancied camping, but it can be more comfortable than you think. If you have never experienced camping before it’s easy to believe the misconceptions, but they aren’t necessarily true. Glamping makes camping feel more cosy than you think with its added luxuries. Plus it costs less than a hotel or resort. Here are some common myths that you should dismiss straight away.

Camping is boring

This is the most common misconception of camping in general. Camping is only boring if you choose it to be. There are camping sites throughout the world that are situated either within or near to popular tourist attractions. Campsites can be found by theme parks or swimming pools for example. You’ll have to sleep on the floor

Sleeping on a hard, wet floor can be incredibly uncomfortable. Air beds are much more comfortable and are a glamping must-have. You can buy them in single or double sizes for maximum comfort in your tent. Glamping accommodation vary from just tents. A favourite glamping option is a Yurt, which is a more substantial tent like structure. They are often big enough to fit single or double beds into. So you definitely don’t need to worry about hurting your back from sleeping on the floor.

Camping is unhygienic

This is completely untrue. Most campsites equipped with fully functioning toilets and shower blocks. So you don’t have to worry about digging a hole in the ground. Running water is also a necessity that all campsites must have. So there are plenty of facilities available for you to keep clean and hygienic. It’s a good idea to take anti-bacterial gel and wipes for some additional protection. Glamping options also include things such as hairdryers and hair straighteners for their guests to use. So you’ll feel like you’re at home in your own bathroom.

These are just three of the many myths about camping that you should ignore. Glamping is a great bonding experience that everyone should try at least once. It’s not for everybody but don’t let these common myths stop you from having the time of your life.
