Weekend Window Shopping: Porsche Panamera Hatchback 2017

Hello and thanks for coming back for another WWS feature. These are probably my favourite articles to write because I love looking at dream cars we all wish we could afford. I recently released posts on the Mercedes AMG GTS and the Lotus Esprit GT3. Make sure you check them out if you haven’t done so already. Today, we’re going to look at the Porsche Panamera 2017 Hatchback. It’s a model that’s interested me for a while, and so I’m excited to write this piece. Most readers will never afford to purchase an automobile like that – and neither will I. Still, it’s good to see how the most intelligent and advanced designers are pushing their newest models.

Price

When compared to other cars from the top of the range brands, the Panamera isn’t as expensive as most people might think. It’s still out of the average price bracket, but it’s cheaper than similar models from the likes of BMW & Bugatti. The basic editions start at around £68,000 right now. That means you might manage to pick one up in a couple of year’s time for less than £40,000. Of course, you would need to consider the second-hand market. For what you’re getting, it’s a pretty amazing price. So, let’s take a look at the specs.

Specifications

The Porsche Panamera can go from naught to sixty in just under six seconds. That makes it one of the fastest small cars on the road today. The model has a top speed of 161 mph and comes with 330 horsepower. Premium editions of the car are even more powerful, but we’re focusing on the core release today. The Panamera has a wheelbase of 2,950 mm, and a length of 5,049 mm. So, it’s much smaller than other upmarket models from the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini.

Transmission, fuel, and eco factors

As standard, the Panamera comes with an 8-speed transmission, and the model offers rear wheel drive. It contains a 75-litre fuel tank that should ensure it never runs out of juice on long journeys. Lots of people are concerned about the environmental impact of sports cars these days. So, it’s good to know this edition from Porsche doesn’t kick out too many CO2 emissions. Indeed, the manufacturers say it boasts 173-171 CO2 emissions in g/km. That’s much lower than models from other brands with the same spec.

Conclusion

The Porsche Panamera is an amazing machine that anyone with the money can purchase right now. There are some models available on the used market already, and they start at around £54,000. However, it’s important to note that people can purchase a hybrid model that will help to reduce running costs. Specialists from Absolute Reg say they’re dealing with more clients who own those models than ever before. Will that trend continue as prices drop during the next couple of years? Almost certainly.

Thanks for coming back here and reading another Weekend Window Shopping article. You might not manage to afford a Porsche Panamera at any time in the near future. However, nothing is wrong with setting yourself a goal.
