The Best & Worst Asian Cars

Acura MDX

There are loads of great car manufacturers in Asia, but the continent has had mixed fortunes. There have been ups, and there have been downs. Here are the best and worst cars to come out of Asia.

The Best

There are plenty of Asian cars that are among the very best that have ever been made. That means it’s pretty hard to narrow down the options. Many Asian car manufacturers are known for making cars that are highly functional and good for people who need security and reliability on the road. For example, commuters love the Honda Accord Hybrid for its efficiency and smooth driving capabilities. It’s definitely the greatest hybrid on the market at the moment.

There are plenty of great Asian options for people with families who need the space in the back too. The Acura MDX is an SUV, but it drives more like a sports car. And who doesn’t want a car with the space and comfort of an SUV combined with the drive quality of a sports car? The interior of the car is very stylish and refined too. Another car that is similar but even bigger and more powerful is the Infiniti QX80. It’s also one of the very safest cars on the market.

If a stylish sporty coupe is what you’re looking for, the Hyundai Veloster is surely the car for you. They’re sporty, quick and beautifully designed. And they’re not even too expensive to buy nowadays. You can head down to a Hyundai dealership and find one for a pretty low price. It’s more practical than you might imagine as well. There’s plenty of space in the back for passengers.

The Worst

It’s not all good though. We can’t ignore the many terrible cars that have come out of Asia over the years and decades. Some of the worst cars are so poor because of their design. This is definitely true of the SsangYong Rodius. It’s a huge car and has lots of space for large families, but it’s not the most attractive car in the world. It looks more like a shoebox on wheels than a car. Yes, it’s practical, but it’s also hideous.

The build quality is what lets down Daewoo Nexia. It’s fair to say that Daewoo have released many mediocre and downright bad cars over the years, but the Nexia has to be one of the most terrible. It was a car that seemed outdated and old-fashioned even when it came out. It was years behind the crowd when it first hit the market, and today it stands out as a truly terrible car. It’s terrible to drive and terrible to look at!

The Toyota Paseo was plagued by minor problems. It wasn’t that there was one big problem that all the cars faced. It was more that the car had an endless stream of small problems that eventually wore the car down, and then it just stopped working completely. There were oil problems that eventually killed the bearings and the radiators leaked all the time.

These are what I see as the best and worst to come out of Asia, what are your favourites and least favourites?
