2001 Ford Focus LX

Even before I passed my test, I knew I would like to own a Focus at some point in my life. So the day came that I passed my test, and I was on the look out for a car. After browsing the net, and narrowed down the list of possible options, we finally came across my first car…. Ford Focus 51 plate, one “careful lady owner” from a little garage up in Ashington, Northumberland (I don’t think this is any longer a small garage, as I see quite a lot of cars with their name in the back window now days).

Anyway, when we first went and looked at the car, it had steel wheels, and looked fairly clean, but we managed to do a deal with the garage for them to put some nice alloy wheels on the car (was expecting something a little better then a set of cheap Wolfrace wheels, but never mind)

I owned this car for a good few years, did allsorts to it (looking back at it from today, some of these mods were shocking and “chav tastic” – but I enjoyed them at the time and have since grown out of that kinda stuff).

Finally the day came where enough was enough of having a slow heavy 1.4 litre car, and to move onto something more modern and faster :D

This is where my next Ford Focus MK2 comes into the picture. I traded this car in for the new Focus at a Ford garage in Washington (which no longer exists – see story on my MK2 page for more details about this), but was purchased by a trader who was visiting the garage while I was looking for a new car, who instantly named a price to the garage when sorting a deal on my new car. That said, the car is now somewhere in Newcastle (have seen it parked in ASDA Metro Centre car park with dark gray viper stripes on a few times).
